Zusammenfassung

Von den heute bestehenden Interessenvereinigungen auf dem Gebiet der optischen Polymerfaser kann das Japanische POF-Konsortium auf die größte Aktivität zurückblicken. Es wurde 1994 gegründet und wird seitdem von Prof. Yasuhiro Koike geleitet, der auch durch seine zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen, vor allem zu Gradientenindexprofil-Polymerfasern, internationale Anerkennung gefunden hat. Insgesamt ca. 70 Institute und Hersteller sind im Japanischen POF-Konsortium vertreten. Tabelle 11.1 zeigt den Stand im Jahr 1999 ([Po199], [Koi96d]).
