Durst und Hunger: Allgemeinempfindungen

Zusammenfassung

Aus sinnesphysiologischer Sicht können die Durstempfindungen bei Flüssigkeitsmangel und die Hungerempfindungen bei Nahrungsmangel weder einem bestimmten Sinnesorgan, noch einer bestimmten Körperstruktur zugeordnet werden. Sie werden deshalb als Allgemeinempfindungen (Synonyme: Allgemeingefühle, Gemeingefühle) bezeichnet. Als solche lassen sich beispielsweise auch Müdigkeit, Lufthunger (Atemnot) und sexuelle Appetenz auffassen. Ihnen ist gemeinsam, daß sie einen oder mehrere adäquate Reize besitzen, die ihren Ursprung im Organismus selbst, nicht in der Umwelt haben. Diese Reize werden von z.T. noch unbekannten Receptoren registriert und führen damit zu den jeweiligen Allgemeinempfindungen (Abb.14-1 A). So wird unten gezeigt, daß eine intracelluläre osmotische Hypertonizität bei Wassermangel über Osmoreceptoren erfaßt und dadurch eine Durstempfindung (Synonyme: Durst, Durstgefühl) ausgelöst wird (Abb. 14-1 B). Entsprechend läßt sich vorstellen, daß sich im Blut im Laufe des Tages „Abfallstoffe“anhäufen, die uns das Gefühl der Müdigkeit vermitteln, oder daß bestimmte Hormone, sobald sie in genügender Form im Organismus vorliegen, Empfindungen der sexuellen Appetenz auslösen oder deren Auslösung begünstigen.
