Zusammenfassung
Im folgenden Kapitel wird die Physiologie zweier entwicklungsgeschichtlich verwandter Sinnesorgane besprochen. Gleichgewichtsorgan und Hörorgan liegen nicht nur anatomisch benachbart im Felsenbein und bilden das innere Ohr, sondern sie entstammen auch der gleichen entwicklungsgeschichtlichen Wurzel. Da andererseits das Hörorgan beim Menschen insbesondere im Dienste des wichtigsten Kommunikationsmittels, nämlich der Sprache, steht, wird die Physiologie des Sprechens in diesem Kapitel ebenfalls behandelt.
