Abstract
In the experiments we have carried out, two jumps were observed in the heat capacity of binary methanol—n-heptane mixture with weak stirring of the solution. These were registered at points of the spinodal and binodal curves on the diagram of states, and the magnitude of the jumps depended on the stirring frequency. The authors of [104] considered their appearance to be connected with spinodal decomposition, although initially the whole system was beyond the spinodal.
