Zusammenfassung
Fehlentwicklungen der äußeren und inneren Nase gehören zu den ausgesprochenen Raritäten in der Medizin, so dass einigermaßen verläßliche Häufigkeitsangaben nur für die meistgesehenen Fehlbildungen, d.h. die Choanalatresie und die Meningoenzephalozelen, zur Verfügung stehen. In ätiologischer Hinsicht lässt sich lediglich sagen, dass die gleichen teratogenen Möglichkeiten in Frage kommen, wie sie für alle Fehlbildungen gelten, d.h. spontane oder induzierte Genmutationen oder direkte Keimschädigungen durch physikalische, chemische oder infektiöse Noxen (ionisierende Strahlen, Zytostatika, Alkohol, Virusinfekte etc.). Eine Heredität wurde bei isolierten Nasenfehlbildungen mit Ausnahme der kongenitalen Anosmie bisher nicht beobachtet. Dennoch sollte man auch bei Fehlbildungen der Nase in jedem Fall für eine humangenetische Untersuchung und Beratung sorgen.
