Zusammenfassung

Jede Unterbrechung der physiologischen Kontinuität der einzelnen Schichten des Hautorgans führt im Rahmen der dadurch aktivierten Reparaturmechanismen zur Ausbildung von Narbengewebe. Dieses unterscheidet sich im feingeweblichen Aufbau von den ortsständigen Strukturen und ist als solches auch visuell in Form eines veränderten Hautreliefs erkennbar. Je auffälliger dieses ist, um so häufiger wird aus ästhetischen Gründen eine chirurgische Revision gewünscht. Liegt zusätzlich eine funktionelle Beeinträchtigung vor, so ist die Korrektur auch medizinisch-kurativ indiziert. Eine medizinische Indikation besteht ebenfalls bei speziellen narbigen Zuständen im Sinne der Karzinomund/oder Entzündungsprophylaxe. Exemplarisch sei hier auf das Radioderm und auf chronisch-fistulierende Entzündungsprozesse wie der Aknetetrade hingewiesen. Nicht selten er­gänzen sich medizinisch-kurative und ästhe­tisch-kosmetische Indikation und rechtfertigen erst dadurch das operative Vorgehen.
