Abstract

The effective functioning of the genetic apparatus of biological systems is, to a great extent, due to the specific conformational abilities of the DNA macromolecule. The comparatively low energy barriers for the transitions between the stable states and small free-energy difference of double helix forms allow the macromolecule to change, within broad ranges, the mutual position of its structural elements (nucleic bases, sugar rings and phosphate groups) [1].
