Zusammenfassung

Die Physiologie der perinatalen respiratorischen Adaptation ist in Tabelle 2.3, S.26, dargestellt. Auch jenseits der postnatalen Umstellung unterscheidet sich die Atmung des Neugeborenen erheblich von der des Erwachsenen (Tabelle 7.1). So können Neugeborene zwar meist auch durch den Mund atmen [52], geraten aber bei Obstruktionen der Nase häufig in schwere Ateminsuffizienz (Cho-analatresie) oder obstruktive Apnoen [33, 48].
