Zusammenfassung

In der postnatalen Phase ist der Kreislauf erheblichen Umstellungsvorgängen unterworfen. Dadurch werden z.B. einige in utero gut tolerierte angeborene Herzfehler unmittelbar post natum symptomatisch. Bedeutsam ist hierbei außerdem, daß das Herz des Neugeborenen schon physiologischerweise auf der Ebene eines hohen enddiastolischen Füllungsvolumens arbeitet [48]. Ferner ist die myokardiale Katecholaminkonzentration in den ersten Lebenstagen besonders niedrig [29] und die Utilisation langkettiger Fettsäuren gegenüber dem Erwachsenen eingeschränkt [19].
