Abstract

Calorimetric measurements seem, at first glance, to be simple and straightforward. By definition, one has to supply some heat to the sample and to measure the corresponding increment in its temperature. However, no simple solution for this problem exists in a wide temperature range. First, the accuracy of temperature measurements in various temperature ranges is very different. Second, it is impossible to completely avoid uncontrollable heat exchange between the sample and its surroundings when the temperature of the sample is far from room temperature.
