Zusammenfassung

In den rezenten Meeren sind etwa 50% der Böden von Karbonatsedimenten bedeckt (Lisitzin, 1971). Bereiche bevorzugter Karbonatsedimentation sind die Flachmeere der Tropen und Subtropen zwischen 30°N und 30°S (Abb. 4) und der Tiefseeboden, dessen Fläche zu etwa 1/3 von Karbonatschlamm eingenommen wird.
