Im Ohr sind Receptoren für 2 sensorische Modalitäten, Gehör und Gleichgewicht, lokalisiert. Äußeres Ohr, Mittelohr und der Cochlea-Anteil des Innenohrs dienen dem Gehör, während Bogengänge, Utriculus und wahrscheinlich auch Sacculus mit der Aufrechterhaltung der Lage im Raum zu tun haben.
