Abstract
Pergularia tomentosa L. (Daemia cordata Forssk, R. Br. ex Schult) Asclepiadaceae, known locally as “Ghalaka” (Ibn El Bitar 1809; Migahid 1989), is a plant indigenous to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Abyssinia, North Africa, Iran, Afghanistan, West Pakistan, northern and central Sudan (Engler and Prantl 1891; Maire 1933; Migahid 1989). The plant is one of the abundant plants in Saudi Arabia, where it is found on rocky parts of deserts in various regions.
