Abstract

The ‘γ, 2e’ process, where one photon pulls two electrons out of an atom or a molecule, and the ‘e, 2e’ process, in which one incident electron knocks one electron out of the target, both lead to a final state composed of two electrons in the continuum of an ionic core. The description of this final state sets a very difficult problem to theoreticians.
