Zusammenfassung

Die Inzidenz des Mammakarzinoms liegt in den westlichen Ländern bei 70–80/100.000 Frauen/Jahr. Der Häufigkeitsgipfel liegt im 5. und 6. Lebensjahrzehnt. Durchschnittlich werden in Deutschland jährlich etwa 45.000 neue Fälle von Brustkrebs diagnostiziert. Die Überlebensraten über alle Stadien betragen nach 10 Jahren etwa 60%. Das Mammakarzinom verursacht etwa 20% aller Krebstodesfälle der Frau.
