Abstract
The spectroscopic properties which are required for the characterization of organic molecules and, in particular, for the structure elucidation of unknown molecules are, as a rule, independent of direction. Measurements, e.g.; UV, IR, NMR, ESR, OR, ORD and CD are, hence, normally carried out in isotropic solvents in which a preferred molecular orientation cannot take place.
