Zusammenfassung
Zur Darstellung der Gelenkinnenräume verwendet man Luft, als negatives Kontrastmittel (Pneumarthrographie) oder jodhaltiges Kontrastmittel, das entweder allein in die Gelenkhöhle eingespritzt wird oder zusammen mit Luft. Im ersteren Fall spricht man von Kontrastarthrographie, im letzteren von Doppelkontrastarthrographie (Doppelkontrastmethode).
