Zusammenfassung
Alkaloide sind stickstoffhaltige, zumeist heterozyklische Verbindungen bevorzugt pflanzlichen Ursprungs. Die meisten Alkaloide sind Basen, kompliziert gebaut und von großer struktureller Vielfalt. In den tierischen oder menschlichen Organismus gebracht entfalten sie auffallende pharmakologische und/oder toxikologische Wirkungen, sehr häufig dadurch, daß sie primär auf das Zentralnervensystem wirken.
