Zusammenfassung

Die seit langem bekannten Organe mit endokriner Funktion sind Hypophyse, Thyreoidea, Parathyreoidea, Pankreas, Nebennierenrinde, Nebennierenmark und Gonaden. Dazu kommen celluläre Strukturen mit endokrinen Leistungen: (1) Zellen im Hypothalamus (Bildung von Liberinen und Statinen, bzw. Releasing- und Inhibiting-Hormonen, Kap. 14), (2) Zellen des Magen-Darm-Traktes (Bildung von Gewebehormonen, Kap. 26), (3) Thymus (Bildung von Hormonen für Lymphocyten-Differenzierung, Kap. 27), (4) Niere (Produktion von 2 Hormonen) und (5) Epiphyse (wahrscheinlich ebenfalls Träger einer endokrinen Funktion).
