Zusammenfassung
Als Obst werden Früchte bzw. Scheinfrüchte sowie Samen kultivierter und wildwachsender, mehrjähriger Pflanzen bezeichnet. Eine in der Praxis übliche Einteilung unterscheidet Kernobst, Steinobst, Beerenobst, Südfrüchte, Schalenobst und Wildfrüchte. In Tab. 18.1 sind die wichtigsten Obstarten aufgeführt mit Hinweisen auf die botanische Systematik und die Verwendung. Tab. 18.2 orientiert über die Obsterzeugung.
