Abstract

We discuss the spatial and spectral properties of high power diode laser arrays by injection locking. Compared to free running diode lasers, the injection locking increases the brightness of the output beam by orders of magnitudes. Due to this substantial improvement, these systems are attractive laser sources for many applications. This is demonstrated by the use as a pump source for a monolithic Nd:YAG ring laser and for a laser made of the non-linear material NYAB.
