Zusammenfassung

Vitamin D ist ein für die Gesundheit des Menschen essentieller Wirkstoff. Es nimmt eine zentrale Stellung in der Regulation des Kalzium- und Phosphorstoffwechsels ein und beeinflußt die Mineralisation des Knochens in entscheidender Weise. Während der Wachstumsphase ist dies von besonderer Bedeutung und erklärt den im Säuglingsalter erhöhten Bedarf an Vitamin D.
