Zusammenfassung
Die Sarkoidose tritt in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland mit einer Prävalenz von 20–50 Fällen, die Neurosarkoidose mit einer Prävalenz von 1–2,5 Fällen pro 100000 Einwohner auf. Die Inzidenz beträgt etwa 8–10 Fälle pro 100000 Einwohner pro Jahr, dementsprechend gilt für die Neurosarkoidose eine Inzidenz von 0,4–0,5. Menschen dunkler Hautfarbe sind angeblich 10 bis 17mal häufiger betroffen und haben einen schwereren Verlauf. Ohne Bevorzugung eines Geschlechts liegt der Altersgipfel der Erkrankung zwischen dem 30. und 45. Lebensjahr.
