Zusammenfassung
In einer EEG-Registrierung lassen sich die einzelnen EEG-Kanäle in Bezug zu den verschiedenartigen Elektrodenkombinationen (Programmschaltungen) keineswegs immer topographisch sinnvoll anordnen. Bei der Auswertung müssen die EEG-Kurven dann gedanklich in eine räumliche Vorstellung umgesetzt werden, die sich auf die Topographie der Hirnoberfläche bezieht. Zu den zwei Dimensionen, die die Verteilung der EEG-Wellen in der X-und Y-Ebene betreffen, kommt die „dritte“ Dimension in Gestalt der Amplituden hinzu, mit der die Potentiale an den verschiedenen Ableitepunkten auftreten (Abb. 19.1a). Für dies alles ist eine besondere mentale Leistung erforderlich. Meistens wird die topographische Information in einer EEG-Ableitung nicht ausgeschopft. Dies gilt für das Spontan-EEG ebenso wie für reizbezogene EEG-Phänomene (evozierte Potentiale).
