Zusammenfassung
Anatomisch ist die Harnblase samt Auslaßregion und Trigonum eine komplizierte Struktur, über die es noch keine einheitlichen Auffassungen gibt. Man unterscheidet 4 verschiedene Muskelstrukturen, von denen 3 aus glatten und 1 aus quergestreiften Muskeln bestehen. Die beiden wesentlichen Blasenfunktionen, Urinspeicherung und Urinentleerung, sind jedoch nicht nur aus der Kenntnis der anatomischen Strukturen zu verstehen. Zusätzlich muß man die Innervation des unteren Harntraktes durch das spinale Miktionszentrum und dessen Kontrolle durch ein höheres, zentrales Miktionszentrum kennen. Bis zur Kontinenz des Erwachsenen unterliegt die Harnblase einem längeren Reifungsprozeß, der sich über die ersten Jahre der Kindheit erstreckt.
