Zusammenfassung

Die monolithische Integration von Lasern und Photodioden mit Transistoren, Widerständen oder Kondensatoren erweist sich als äußerst kompliziert. Die Optimierung der Einzelbauelemente verlangt technologische Maßnahmen gegenläufiger Art, die mit einer Integration sehr unterschiedlicher Strukturen nur schwer zu vereinbaren ist. Dennoch erwartet man letztlich Vorteile von optoelektronisch integrierten Schaltkreisen, weil parasitäre Kapazitäten und Induktivitäten auf ein Minimum zu begrenzen sind. Die Integration fördert sicherlich auch eine Massenproduktion.
