Zusammenfassung

Die Anästhesie beim geriatrischen Patienten ist für die anästhesiologische Forschung bisher ein weitgehend unbekanntes Gebiet geblieben, obwohl der Anästhesist wegen der gestiegenen Lebenserwartung in den westlichen Industrienationen in zunehmendem Maße mit den spezifischen Problemen dieser Altersgruppe konfrontiert wird.
