Zusammenfassung

Infektionskrankheiten, wie Pest, Pocken und Poliomyelitis, haben eine nicht zu überschätzende Rolle in der Geschichte der Menschheit gespielt. Die Listeriose ist dagegen natürlich vergleichsweise unbedeutend. Dennoch hat auch diese Krankheit Geschichte geschrieben, z.B. was die deutschbritischen Beziehungen betrifft. Anne, Königin von England (1665–1714) aus dem Hause Stuart, war verheiratet mit Georg, einem dänischen Prinzen. Im Grunde brachten beide für eine reichliche Nachkommenschaft alle Voraussetzungen mit, denn sie waren beide nicht gerade zarte, zimperliche, elegische Wesen, im Gegenteil, sie waren dem Leben und auch sich gegenseitig zugetan.
