Zusammenfassung

Bei der immunologischen Auseinandersetzung des Organismus mit der Umwelt kommt der inneren bzw. äußeren Körperoberfläche eine besondere Rolle zu. In Analogie zum MALT (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) entwickelte Streilein [1983] das Konzept des SALT (skin-associated lymphoid tissue oder Haut-assoziiertes lymphoides Gewebe). Diese SALT bestehen u.a. aus antigenpräsentierenden Langerhans-Zellen, Zytokin-produzierenden Keratinozyten, epidermotropen T-Zellen und drai-nierenden peripheren Lymphknoten (Abb. 2.1.1).
