Abstract
Eugene (Jenö) Paul Wigner, physicist, of Hungarian origin, was born in Budapest on November 17th, 1902, and is now living in the United States. After finishing his middle school studies, he became a student of the Technische Hochschule in Berlin where he was later given a post as assistant lecturer. He took his degree in chemistry in 1925. Five years later he became a lecturer at the University of Princeton where he taught mathematical physics. For two semesters he also taught at the University of Wisconsin, returning to lecture at Princeton University in 1938.
