Abstract
Slope stabilisation projects involve the following phases: diagnosis, therapy or solution and monitoring of the behaviour (Fig. 1). Prior chapters of this book addressed the diagnosis phase, which includes problem and mass movement characterisation, site investigation and stability assessment (Fig. 2). At the end of the diagnosis phase, the geotechnical designer has to make a decision as to which type or types of solutions or therapies should be used. The aim of this chapter is to provide a preliminary guide to making this decision.
