Zusammenfassung

Die Verwendung von ausgewählten Büchern und Schriften in der Psychotherapie, Psychiatrie und Somato-Medizin ist keine spezifisch verhaltenstherapeutische Methode. In unterschiedlichen Therapieschulen wird die »Bibliotherapie« — verstanden als »Therapie durch angeleitetes Lesen« — als ein Hilfsmittel in der Behandlung von psychischen und körperlichen Krankheiten, zur Veränderung von emotionalen und Verhaltensproblemen, aber auch als eine Möglichkeit der persönlichen Weiterentwicklung eingesetzt (Pardeck & Pardeck, 1984; Wolf, 1989; Pardeck, 1993; Santrock et al., 1994). Für die Bibliotherapie kommen literarisches Material, Schicksalsberichte und Problemlösebücher zur Anwendung. Diese wiederum können weiterführend unterteilt werden in:

  • Therapie-bzw. Selbsthilfemanuale.
