Abstract

This volume deals with gaseous molecular ions. It gives an introduction to elementary processes induced in a molecule subjected to the removal or addition of an electron leading to a singly charged cation or anion, respectively. Among the many possibilities to remove or add electrons from or to a neutral molecule, we will focus on reactions induced by photoionization and free electron attachment.
