The Effect of Gallopamil on the Haemodynamics of Patients with Coronary Heart Disease
- 13 Downloads
From numerous studies published to date we know that calcium antagonists significantly reduce peripheral arterial resistance and that this reduction of af-terload partially or totally compensates for the negative inotropic effect of these substances; thus some authors report that ventricular function is unchanged and others that it is improved. This trial was intended to investigate in a consecutive group of coronary patients the response of haemodynamic parameters, especially of the ejection fraction and regional contractility of the ventricular wall, to the intravenous injection of 2 mg gallopamil.
