Zusammenfassung
In einer Marktwirtschaft werden die Güterströme über Gütermärkte von den Anbietern zu den Nachfragern gelenkt, die Geldströme über den Geld- und Kapitalmarkt. Da Geld der Vereinfachung des Güterhandels dient, bestehen enge Zusammenhänge zwischen den Vorgängen auf den Gütermärkten und den Vorgängen auf dem Geld- und Kapitalmarkt. So werden Investoren kaum bereit sein, Geld am Kapitalmarkt anzulegen, also auf heutigen Konsum zugunsten zukünftigen Konsums zu verzichten, wenn die am Kapitalmarkt erzielbare Rendite deutlich unter der Inflationsrate liegt. Gleichzeitig wird es bei einer solchen Konstellation zu hoher Kreditnachfrage kommen. Ein Ausgleich von Geldangebot und -nachfrage führt im allgemeinen zu einer Rendite, die über der Inflationsrate liegt.
