Abstract

The first version of this book was written towards the end of 2001. Since then more than 150 papers have appeared describing different aspects of fatigue in ferroelectrics, and some earlier publication only became widely accessible then. Most of the reports concern the processing of thin films and a brief statement is given on the durability of the newly produced material or device. Some works have given additional conceptually interesting results which are summarized in the following sections and reflected in the light of the other chapters of this book.
