Abstract
The Western Washington Trial was initiated in July 1981 and was completed in 1983. It is an intracoronary streptokinase multicentre trial which included a total of 14 hospitals. The entry of patients was restricted to those less than 75 years of age. They were required to have an ST elevation, and to submit to coronary angiography. Over the period of the study 250 patients were randomised to receive either streptokinase treatment or control therapy.
