Zusammenfassung

Akustisch evozierte Potentiale gehören seit über 10 Jahren zum festen Repertoire der Diagnostik einer Neurologischen Klinik, obwohl diese Technik zu den jungen Untersuchungstechniken in der Neurophysiologie gehört. Daß es sich um eine bereits etablierte Untersuchungstechnik handelt, verdeutlichen aktuelle wissenschaftliche Fragestellungen. Sie beziehen sich überwiegend auf klinische Randbereiche, wie z. B. das Monitoring auf der Intensivstation und während Operationen, das Koma, Entwicklungsstörungen in der Pädiatrie, neue Auswertetechniken und Lokalisationsdiagnostik, 3D-Verfahren und Dipolanalyse. Belange, die früher Priorität hatten, wie Untersuchungstechnik, Indikationen, Sensitivität, diagnostische Sicherheit sind in den Hintergrund getreten. Eine aktuelle Übersicht muß dennoch Aspekte der Untersuchungstechnik, der Indikationen, ganz allgemein der Qualitätskontrolle und -sicherung enthalten.
