Abstract

This is a disease of the eccrine sweat excretion ducts with retention of sweat within the skin. Dependent on the histopathological and clinical findings miliaria crystallina, miliaria rubra and miliaria profunda can be distinguished. Miliaria is a common disorder of children and infants although it can be seen at any age. Miliaria usually occurs during spring and summer, in hot and humid climates, often after extended exposure to the sun.
