Zusammenfassung
Seit Ende der 6oer Jahre gilt der Ultraschall mit der nichtinvasiven Möglichkeit der Bildgebung als Meilenstein des Fortschritts in der Medizin und besitzt ausgehend von der Bearbeitung geburtshilflicher Fragestellungen mittlerweile in nahezu allen Fachdisziplinen eine Schlüsselstellung in der Diagnostik. Seit der gleichen Zeitspanne greift die kontinuierliche externe elektronische Herzfrequenzregistrierung erstmals in breitem klinischem Einsatz auf das in den vorherigen Kapiteln bereits dargestellte Continuous-wave-Dopp-lerprinzip zurück. Seit Ende der 70er Jahre wurden der gepulste Doppler zur Erfassung von Blutströmungsgeschwindigkeiten und seit Mitte der 80er Jahre die Farbkodierung eingeführt.
