Zusammenfassung
Die fiberoptische Bronchoskopie hat sich als unverzichtbares diagnostisches und therapeutisches Instrument auf der Intensivstation fest etabliert [24], während die starre Bronchoskopie nur noch sehr wenigen Indikationen vorbehalten ist. Nachteile der starren Bronchoskopie sind:

eingeschränkte Sicht in die Peripherie,
-
größere Belastung des Patienten,
-
Notwendigkeit eine tiefen Sedierung oder Narkose,
-
erschwertes Vorgehen bei beatmeten Patienten.
