Zusammenfassung
Bei komatösen Patienten lassen sich klinisch nur vergleichsweise wenige Reflexe erfassen. Ergänzend kommen alle gängigen neurophysiologischen Untersuchungsverfahren in Betracht; Sie können naturgemäß auch zum Monitoring von zerebralen Funktionen im Intensivbereich eingesetzt werden. In der neurophysiologischen Routine haben sich die folgenden Verfahren etabliert:

evozierte Potentiale (EP): visuell (VEP), somatosensorisch (SEP) und akustisch evozierte Potentiale (AEP).
