Zusammenfassung

Nicht zuletzt wegen methodischer Schwierigkeiten, diastolische linksventrikuläre Funktionseinschränkungen sensitiv und ohne unzumutbaren Aufwand zu erfassen, steht die Bedeutung der diastolischen Funktion im klinischen Alltag hinter derjenigen der systolischen deutlich zurück. Dabei ist jedoch zu bedenken, daß z. B. bei der koronaren Herzerkrankung wie auch bei arterieller Hypertonie die diastolische Funktionseinschränkung der systolischen zeitlich vorausgeht (Fou-ad et al. 1984; Gardin et al. 1987; Inouye et al. 1984; Snider et al. 1985).
