Zusammenfassung
Für eine rationale Planung der postoperativen Schmerztherapie wäre es eine große Hilfe, schon bei der ersten Verordnung einen Anhaltspunkt dafür zu haben, wie stark die Schmerzen nach einem bestimmten Eingriff ausfallen werden und wieviel Schmerzmittel ein bestimmter Patient vermutlich benötigt. Es hat nicht an Versuchen gefehlt, Aussagen über „Prädiktoren“ des postoperativen Schmerzes zu gewinnen, sei es durch retrospektive Analysen oder (seltener) durch prospektive Studien.
