Der Aufsatz „Drei Sätze über die n-dimensionale euklidische Sphäre“ voi Karol Borsuk aus dem Jahr 1933 ist berühmt, weil er ein wichtiges Resulta enthält, das von Stanislaw Ulam vermutet worden war, und das man jetz als den Borsuk-Ulam-Satz kennt:
Jede stetige Abbildung f : S → ℝd bildet zwei gegenüberliegende Punkte der Sphäre S auf denselben Punkt im ℝd ab.
