Abstract

Fumigation is a part of wood preservation and is used mainly for the control of wood-destroying insects, but sometimes also to control decay fungi. Fumigation normally does not achieve a preventive treatment, because following the required ventilation the fumigants escape from the wood completely, leaving no residuals.
