Abstract
The albumin fraction is the most prominent protein band observed at the extreme anodal side when normal human serum proteins are electrophoretically separated by the standard procedure (pH 8.6). By using the filter paper or cellulose acetate electrophoresis which is used routinely, it is observed at the highest and sharpest electrophoretic peak. This fraction is composed mostly of serum albumin containing a very small amount of prealbumin.
