Abstract
Almost all of the serum lipids are bound to lipoproteins, and thus hyperlipidemia accompanies always hyperlipoproteinemia. Since there is a lack of unification in the terminology used to express serum lipid abnormalities the author will here define some of the terms to be used subsequently.
