Abstract
This chapter introduces an application study of multi-agent coordination for the secondary voltage control in power system contingencies. The objective of the secondary voltage control is to eliminate any voltage violations in power system contingent operation. The introduction is presented through two example power systems, a simple single-machine infinite-bus power system and the New England 10-machine power system. The secondary voltage control is implemented through two types of FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) voltage controllers, SVC (Static Var Compensator) and STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator).
