Zusammenfassung
Die Anzahl der in Lokalanästhesie durchgeführten ophthalmologischen Eingriffe nimmt ständig zu. Mehr und mehr Patienten werden ambulant oder im Rahmen der Betreuungsmöglichkeiten einer Tagesklinik behandelt. Zu den Vorteilen der örtlichen Betäubung zählen v.a. die geringe systemische Belastung, insbesondere bei multimorbiden älteren Patienten, die schnelle Rehabilitation sowie die rasche Wiedereingliederung in den Alltag. Auch unter Kostengesichtspunkten ist die Lokalanästhesie die empfehlenswertere Vorgehensweise.
